Mack has been a largely underwhelming player for extended portions of his time at Texas A&M despite lofty expectations coming out of high school. However, he responded well to an off-season coaching staff change and a new defensive coordinator, and his play has helped to resuscitate his draft stock. While he has to prove he can build on his senior season, his mass and anchor could appeal to 3-4 or 4-3 teams looking to shore up the middle of their defense with a plugger in the later rounds. — Lance Zierlein

For the 11th consecutive year, the Ravens go out and draft a defensive lineman. I’m fine with it, seeing as interior pressure and gap integrity is critical to winning games in the AFC North. Marshall’s size and play strength made life challenging on Pac-12 receivers, but he lacks the foot quickness and technique to stay connected to more refined NFL targets.
With Baltimore set at cornerback for the 2019 season, this is a great future pick which could pay dividends. Marshall is a bit raw and has been penalized frequently in his past two seasons (16), but with some development and mentorship from the best cornerback room in the league, Marshall may turn out to be a solid option in the future.

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is a great prospect for the Ravens. He’s drawing enormous comparisons to Desean Jackson and sophomore quarterback Lamar Jackson needs somebody like this to open up the field. With such a run-heavy attack, it’s great to find somebody who can be a home run hitter.

There are worries of Brown as he’s currently dealing with a Lisfranc fracture, something the Ravens know all to well with Jimmy Smith. That being said, Eric DeCosta, team doctors and the franchise wouldn’t sign off on Brown if they weren’t confident he would heal up to 100%.

This pick shows DeCosta was serious when he stated they needed to take more swings on receivers. Brown is blazing fast; he’s somebody who could truly open up the offense. He can beat press coverage and is a threat to score on any given down. I like the pick and I like the value here.

A quick reminder for everybody, the first round featured the Ravens landing Marquise Brown, an extra fourth-round and sixth-round pick. Eric DeCosta’s first NFL draft is appears to be playing out according to plan
