Week 1 in the NFL was a wild and exciting one. It was a weekend of upsets as eight underdogs won straight up and eleven underdogs covered the spread. As such, more than half of the Baltimore Beatdown staff — and you, the readers — went .500 or below on picks.
There’s no better time to bounce back like the present, so let’s run it back for Week 2!
Updated standings:
- Spencer 10-6
- Kyle, Josh 9-7
- BB readers, Dustin, Jonas, Vasilis, Frank 8-8
- Jake 7-9
Consensus picks —
- Patriots > Jets (NE -6)
- Broncos > Jaguars (DEN -6)
- Rams > Colts (LAR -4)
- Browns > Texans (CLE -12.5)
- Cardinals > Bengals (AZ -4.5)
- Buccaneers > Falcons (ATL -11.5)
- Packers > Lions (GB -10.5)
A little more parity compared to last week’s predictions, as only seven games saw a unanimous winner from the staff. Not too many surprises here. All of our writers are rolling with the three double-digit favorites (Buccaneers, Browns, Packers) as well as the Patriots and Broncos, who are each favored by six points.
Everyone is also rolling with the Rams and Cardinals to improve to 2-0 against the Colts and Vikings, respectively.
Lone wolf picks —
- Vasilis is going with the Dolphins to improve to 2-0 by upsetting the Bills (MIA +3.5)
- Jake sees the Panthers beating the Saints as a home underdog (CAR +4)
- Josh is by himself in taking the Ravens to defeat the Chiefs on Sunday night (BAL +4)
