Pads on, hitting begins

The first padded practice occurred today and the defense looked to settle the score after all the good press surrounding the pass-catchers this past week. By today’s end, multiple defenders had notched “sacks” on quarterbacks Tyler Huntley and Trace McSorley.

Player of the Practice

Calais Campbell

After enjoying an extra day off yesterday, Campbell returned with excited passion and exuberance. He translated it into at least five pressures. Campbell bullied the Ravens interior blockers on numerous occasions. I assume he was excited to get the pads on so he can begin swimming through blockers.

Odafe Oweh

Good practice out of the rookie linebacker. Took on a pulling Ben Cleveland during run drills and stood his ground. Created a couple pressures, also.

Deon Cain

Solid practice out of the wide receiver. His highlight today was a 20-30 yard catch against Marlon Humphrey on a fade route along the boundary.

Marlon Humphrey

I think the Cain catch was the last one allowed by Humphrey. He later competed against Cain on a third down fade which was easily denied.

Josh Oliver

Delivered a great chip block on Jaylon Ferguson who had been getting in dust-ups all morning. Ferguson was knocked off his footing a little bit and then Oliver caught the ensuing pass. Great play and he caught a pair of passes later in practice.
