With the No. 171 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens have selected Notre Dame edge rusher Daelin Hayes.

The Ravens are double-dipping st outside linebacker with this pick after taking Odafe Oweh in the first round, which makes sense considering they lost their top two players at the position in free agency.

Hayes didn’t have a lot of sack production in college with just nine in 43 career games with the fighting Irish, never recording more than three in a single season. However, like their selection of Oweh, the Ravens are betting on upside with this pick and are hoping that his impressive athletic traits translate to greater success at the next level in the right system with the elite coaching he’ll receive in Baltimore.

While he didn’t rack up a lot of sacks in college, he was still disruptive behind the line of scrimmage with 20.5 in his career. Hayes also forced four fumbles and recovered five loose balls in college as well. He has solid size at 6-foot-3 and 253 pounds and is praised for his leadership, which is a character trait that the Ravens covet.
