The Ravens secondary is the strength of their defense and it just got a versatile defensive back capable of playing both cornerback and safety. Stephens began his collegiate career playing running back at UCLA before transferring to SMU following the 2018 season where he made the transition to the defensive side of the ball and played 23 games at corner.
He appeared in 10 games last season recorded 43 tackles including one for loss, led the Mustangs in pass breakups last season with 10 and hauled in an interception as well.
At 6-foot-0 and 213 pounds, he has adequate size to play both outside cornerback and safety. Since they are deep at corner on the perimeter, he will likely see his most playing time as a rookie on special teams but could earn some defensive snaps in sub packages.
