The Ravens front office is having an active day, or about as active as we’ve seen from them in this new league year thus far. Earlier today, we heard that they’ll be hosting free agent wide receiver Sammy Watkins in Owings Mills for a visit, and some news that may in fact correspond to this is some news that was floated on Twitter via The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec:
Per NFLPA's active salary cap report, Calais Campbell's base salary in 2021 has dropped from $10 million to $2 million and Brandon Williams' has dropped from $4.5 million to $1.5 million. So it appears the Ravens have done some contract restructuring.

While there’s not much info to go off of here just yet, it can’t help but fire the imagination of those who follow the team as it may in fact indicate more moves on the way. While we’re not yet sure what the actual cap numbers would be yet, that’s 11 million dollars in raw salary that’s been moved around per what Zrebiec is reporting.
While he isn’t fully informed on these moves yet, his speculation is that it is in fact for restructures (as opposed to extensions) including the all-intriguing “voidable years” that are suddenly taking the league by storm:
Brian would no better than me, but wonder if it's voidable years. Ravens would typically announce contract extensions

While there isn’t much to go off of yet, this is certainly an intriguing development. For more on it, stay tuned with us.
