The Ravens improved to 3-1 on the season with a 23-7 victory over the Broncos yesterday. It was more of a defensive-centric game than an offensive onslaught, but the Ravens still put up over 400 yards of offense and gained 20 first downs. Defensively, they held the Broncos in check and filled the box score with sacks, quarterback hits, pass breakups and more.

Latavius Murray 11-yard touchdown run: Looking to even the score and respond to the Broncos taking a 7-0 lead, the Ravens quickly drove down into the red zone. Latavius Murray capitalized with an 11-yard rushing touchdown, breaking outside to the left before breaking the goal line. It was his third rushing touchdown of the season.

Marquise Brown 49-yard touchdown catch: After dropping three passes in Week 3, at least two of which likely would have touchdown grabs, Marquise Brown made sure not to make the same mistake on this play. Brown got loose behind Denver’s secondary and Jackson uncorked a 49-yard bomb towards the end zone. “Hollywood” made a spectacular leaping grab, which broke the 7-7 tie midway through the second quarter.

James Proche 32-yard reception: James Proche had a career-best performance against the Broncos, catching five passes for 74 receiving yards. 32 of his 74 receiving yards came on this reception in the fourth quarter, which was crucial to the Ravens closing the door on any potential Broncos comeback. Proche found himself wide open on a crossing route and turned a good gain into a great one for a key first down.

Anthony Averett interception: Anthony Averett was questionable for this game with an ankle injury suffered late in the week. He did not practice on Thursday or Friday, but suited up on Sunday and played another strong game. Averett was targeted seven times and allowed just two catches. He capped off the Ravens’ dominant defensive performance with this garbage time interception in the end zone off Drew Lock.
