Against the Indianapolis Colts, Sammy Watkins absorbed a big hit before gaining a first down. The play resulted in a fresh set of downs, but also saw Watkins exit the field and not return. That injury has carried over into Week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers, where Watkins will miss his first game of the 2021 season.

Watkins isn’t the only Raven set to miss Week 6; joining him is left tackle Ronnie Stanley, who continues to rehab his surgically repaired ankle.
With all the news of absences does come a possible return. Safety DeShon Elliott, who missed the past two games with a lower-body injury, was a full participant in practice on Friday and received only a ‘Questionable’ designation. He’ll be needed to help stop the Chargers high-octane passing attack and also slow down running back Austin Ekeler, who is capable of getting upfield quickly.
Along with Elliott’s return comes safety Geno Stone’s, who missed Week 5 with his own lower-body injury. Though Stone has played only 12 snaps on defense this season, he’s played over 80 snaps on special teams in the first four weeks of the season. Any healthy and capable body’s for the Ravens at this point is a win and Stone’s return will be welcomed greatly.
