Ravens vs. Browns: Bold Predictions

The Ravens open their season against the Browns on Sunday as heavy favorites. However, after splitting games last season, with both contests being decided by at least 15 points, it’s clear that anything can happen in this divisional matchup. With that in mind, the staff of Baltimore Beatdown gives some bold predictions for Sunday’s game.

Frank Platko

While it’s Marquise “Hollywood” Brown who has garnered offseason hype, Miles Boykin is the wide receiver who puts on a show in Week 1. Taking advantage of Cleveland’s beaten-up secondary, Boykin eclipses the 100-yard receiving mark for the first time in his career and catches his fourth career touchdown pass.

TE Mark Andrews scores twice on Sunday. WR Odell Beckham Jr. beats CB Marlon Humphrey for a touchdown but doesn’t have a big day statistically against the All-Pro.

Peter Daubert

The Ravens biggest issue last year was stopping the run. Specifically against running back Nick Chubb, who carved out 165 yards and three touchdowns in their Week 4 meeting last year. I predict that we will see the exact opposite this time around. ILB Patrick Queen will have an amazing rookie debut with at least six tackles and two tackles for loss. Chubb will be held to under 50 yards and zero touchdowns on the ground in a Baltimore win.

The reigning MVP Lamar Jackson will start the 2020 season much like he did a year ago against the Dolphins. Jackson will throw for four touchdowns and over 300 yards on Sunday. Andrews will eclipse 130 receiving yards while Brown goes over 100 as well after a couple of deep shots.

Baker Mayfield’s newly built offensive line succumbs to Baltimore’s revamped defensive line as he is sacked five times, two of which come from Calais Campbell.
