Reports began circulating early on Monday that the Ravens were in the market for a veteran tight end, with big names such as Delanie Walker being thrown around. It appears they’ve in fact made their decision, but it’s not Walker who they’ve opted for:
The #Ravens, who have been in the market for a veteran TE, are expected to sign former #Saints and #Texans TE Jerell Adams, source said. He also spent some time with the #Giants.

While Walker would’ve made a ton of sense as a savvy veteran with an understanding of the Greg Roman offense, it looks as if Baltimore is banking on untapped potential in Adams, the Giants’ 2016 sixth-round pick out of South Carolina. Since then, Adams spent some time in Houston and New Orleans where he didn’t receive much playing time.
This may not quite be the heavy hitter that some may have been expecting at the position, but the 27-year old should have plenty left in the tank, and has some marked athleticism at 6-foot-5, 254 lbs.
With Jacob Breeland ruled out for 2020, the battle for the third spot at tight end behind Mark Andrews and Nick Boyle now commences between Adams, Charles Scarff, and undrafted rookie Eli Wolf.
