“Nothing imminent” regarding Ravens and Dez Bryant

While the shrill whistles and heavy thuds of padded practice echoing throughout Owings Mills signal the beginning of training camp for the Ravens, they’ll never stop looking for additional pieces to become a better team.

They’ve been looking at improving their wide receiving corps specifically, hosting big names at the position to potentially bring in to compete — with the former Cowboy Dez Bryant topping their prospective shopping list.

Bryant’s workout with the team took place on Thursday to much fanfare, and simultaneously little media coverage as it’s pretty clear the Ravens brass wanted to keep this quiet. While the cat is pretty much out of the bag regarding the mutual interest, what hasn’t gotten out is how the workout went, and which way the front office is leaning in regards to signing him to the roster:

No immediate move is interesting wording as that could mean taking the weekend to deliberate and then make a decision, or simply having Dez in their emergency signing shortlist in the event of an injury. Unfortunately, it seems like this may be all we’re hearing on this front until a move happens or he signs elsewhere, as Baltimore has gone to some effort to keep this as lowkey as possible.

Until then, stay tuned to Baltimore Beatdown for more updates on whether Dez will be throwing up the X for the purple and black in 2020.
