According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Ravens are among a small list of teams that have free agent DE Ezekiel “Ziggy” Ansah on their radar.

Ansah, who has been linked to Baltimore in the past, spent last season with the Seahawks. With Seattle, Ansah played in 11 games, recording 18 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, eight QB hits, three tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

The 31-year-old edge rusher was drafted by the Lions with the fifth pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Ansah has certainly flashed throughout his career, most notably in 2015 and 2017 when he had 14.5 and 12 sacks, respectively. In his seven years in the NFL, Ansah has a total of 236 tackles, 63 tackles for loss, 118 QB hits, 50.5 sacks, 12 forced fumbles, and five fumble recoveries.

The Ravens have question marks at edge rusher, with their most proven player, Matthew Judon, set to play the 2020 season under the franchise tag. Alongside Judon is veteran Pernell McPhee, who missed most the 2019 season with a torn triceps, 2017 second-round pick Tyus Bowser, who is in the last year of his rookie contract, and 2019 third-round pick Jaylon Ferguson.

Like McPhee, Ansah has dealt with many injuries over the course of his career that has stifled his true potential. For what should be a cheap signing, bringing in Ansah could help shore up a questionable position for a team hoping to contend for the Super Bowl this season.
