After a day off we return to the Countdown to Week 1 series. It’s Day 96: Broderick Washington.
How Washington Became a Raven
Fewer than two months ago, in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, Washington was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens (No. 170 overall). He is the 151st player to be picked from Texas Tech.
College Career
Washington played 43 games for the Red Raiders in four seasons and boasted 38-consecutive starts to end his college career. In his final season, he totaled 39 tackles with 5.5 going for a loss.

Contract Info
On May 5, 2020, Washington signed a four-year, $3.588 million rookie deal. The deal includes a signing bonus of $293,648.
Outlook for 2020
I expect a back-seat rotational role for Washington, barring a surprise in his play which forces him onto the field. He’s a fifth-round draft pick joining a stacked defense, specifically at his position. It’s not a bad position to be in as he’ll learn from the veterans on the team and not be forced into a role he’s incapable of commanding in year one.
