With the 170th overall pick, the Baltimore Ravens select the Texas Tech defensive tackle product, Broderick Washington.
Ravens use their fifth rounder on Broderick Washington Jr., a DT at Texas Tech.

Washington is a player of great character, which fits the mold of a Raven. Washington was a durable three-year starter at Texas Tech and projects to be a 3-4 defensive end at the next level. He has very aggressive hands and has the potential to be a rotational interior pass-rusher early on.
The addition of Washington along with Justin Madubuike puts extra pressure on the younger guys along the defensive line, specifically Daylon Mack, who was drafted last year. Veterans Justin Ellis and Jihad Ward will both have to establish themselves early if they want to hold their roster spots. Although Ellis and Ward were both re-signed during the offseason, the fact that the Ravens drafted two more defensive linemen to compete shows how they are not satisfied with their current rotational backups.
