With the departure of Josh Bynes to the Cincinnati Bengals yesterday, some suspected the Baltimore Ravens may end up retaining LB Patrick Onwuasor. That hope or idea has dissipated as NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reports the Jets have agreed to terms with Peanut.

This is yet another former Raven heading to the New York Jets, as he joins C.J. Mosley, Alex Lewis, Daniel Brown, Bronson Kaufusi, Breshad Perriman, Ty Montgomery and Kenneth Dixon in The Big Apple.
In his final season in Baltimore, Onwuasor failed to hold the middle linebacker role after Mosley’s departure. Once Bynes re-joined the Ravens, Onwuasor returned to his weakside position and played far better. He accrued 3.0 sacks, one forced fumble and five total tackles for loss. I imagine his return with Mosley will bring about an increase in his performance to the likes of his 2018 season in which he recorded an interception, two forced fumbles and 5.5 sacks.

The contract is a one-year deal, which will prove great for Onwuasor to land a bigger payday in 2021 as the cap increases and the TV deals will be in place.
