Moments ago, ESPN Insider Adam Schefter reported and the Baltimore Ravens confirmed CB Jimmy Smith has re-signed with the team on a one-year deal.
Free-agent cornerback Jimmy Smith is signing back with the Ravens on a one-year deal worth up to $6 million, per @RosenhausSports.

For the Ravens, this is a solid deal. It allows the team to keep together the superstar cast of cornerbacks on the roster, including Marlon Humphrey, Marcus Peters and Tavon Young. With Smith added into the mix, they can operate strongly from the dime without a drop off in talent or size. If one were to go down, any of these can fill in rotation due to the depth of the position.
The deal sounds as if there are incentives which can allow Smith to earn up to $6 million, rather than it being a $6 million deal guaranteed or otherwise. The better Smith performances, the better for both the team and his bank account.
As for Smith, this gives him the opportunity to play a great 2020 season, attempt a championship run and cash in with the new television deals in 2021 if he desires.
