Mock Draft Monday so I thought I would give it a shot. This mock turned out way differently than I expected, but I don't mind the results. I was using Fanspeak On The Clock draft simulator drafting four rounds only.
28: R1P28 LB PATRICK QUEEN, LSU
Six wide receivers went before the Ravens pick including even the marginal first round values. So it came down to Queen versus an Edge or DL guy - Terrell Lewis, Zach Baun, Marlon Davidson were available. For me, Patrick Queen was an easy pick and will star in the middle of our defense.
60: R2P28 WR DENZEL MIMS, BAYLOR
The last of the good WR left were Mims, Claypool and Van Jefferson. Again, this was an easy pick for me. Mims can help our passing attack year one with his excellent height, weight, speed and insane catch-radius.
92: R3P28 LB MALIK HARRISON, OHIO STATE
I know this is where I lose a lot of you. Another devalued ILB? Well Malik Harrison could the antidote to the Ravens susceptibility to a Derick Henry type running attack. And he may not be great but he is adequate in coverage. And in combination with Patrick Queen he gives us a very strong defensive middle with sideline-to-sideline coverage.
I considered and passed on Edge KHALID KAREEM and Guards LOGAN STENBERG and DAMIEN LEWIS.
126: R4P23 EDGE JONATHAN GARVIN, MIAMI
He was the best Edge left. I really know little about him but it looks like he has some decent traits to develop and could be a rotational piece. This definitely assumes Judon is brought back.
131: R4P28 C KEITH ISMAEL, SAN DIEGO STATE
Center competition and developmental guy.
136: R4P33 , DL BRODERICK WASHINGTON, TEXAS TECH
Decent prospect as a rotational IDL.
145: R4P42 S JEREMY CHINN, SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
Really good size/speed. If nothing else he could be a ST contributor year 1.
Now go ahead and mock my mock.
