News & Notes: ‘Hollywood’ Brown Expected to Debut Soon - Ryan Mink
Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown Is on Schedule, Nearing Debut
First-round wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown wasn’t on the field for the first day of training camp, but he’s not far off.
“He has passed the conditioning test. [That is a] great sign. He can run,” Head Coach John Harbaugh said.
“That’s in the doctors’ hands right now, in terms of the healing process. No setbacks. He is on schedule. I think they want to make sure that this cut and that cut don’t make him feel pain. They’re probably airing on the side of caution to some degree, but I don’t want to put a timeframe on it, because it’s never in the coach’s hands. I’m hopeful, and I’m really expecting him back here pretty soon.”

Inside Ravens camp: Lamar Jackson will be more than just fine, but pass rush is a worry, and more notes - Jason La Canfora
Already plenty to like at QB
The ball is coming out of Jackson’s hand with more velocity and accuracy than this time a year ago. His spiral is more consistently tighter, and while he is still a work-in-progress as are all second-year QBs, there is a lot to like here.
”He’s worked really hard on his fundamentals to make sure that when he does have a bad play he knows how to correct it,” backup QB Robert Griffin III said of the starter. “And that’s part of the solution. If you know what your weaknesses are you can easily fix it and that’s what the coaches have been harping on. You don’t want him on a five-step throw thinking, ‘I have to get my hips into this one.’ We just want him to do that naturally and that’s kind of what he’s been working on and we’ve all been working on it. And he’s getting better at it.
Ravens DT’s crash course equals 20-pound shed - Jamison Hensley
“Like I told my teammates, I really apologize for letting them down, and [that] has never been indicative of my character to come in out of shape,” Pierce said after practice. “I told them it wouldn’t happen again.”
“I wasn’t diligent in my dieting and wasn’t diligent in my conditioning,” Pierce said. “I was focusing more on lifting. That was a mistake I learned from. That really, really won’t happen again. That’s going to be my mission -- to prove to guys that I’m here to work.”
While not practicing at minicamp, Pierce worked out twice a day with strength and conditioning coach Steve Saunders. He spoke to the team’s director of sports nutrition Sarah Snyder about caloric intake. He hired a chef who put him on a paleo diet.

5. G MARSHAL YANDA, BALTIMORE RAVENS
2018 OVERALL GRADE RANK: 8
Stellar in pass protection, Yanda hasn’t allowed a sack since Week 7 of the 2015 season. He’s played 1,767 pass-blocking snaps since Week 8 of that season and not once has his quarterback been sacked due to Yanda being beaten. In fact, in that same stretch, he has allowed just four quarterback hits, and just 29 total pressures, working out at a pressure once every 60.9 pass-blocking snaps and a hit once every 441.8. His span of starts since he last allowed a sack sits at 41 games, and in those 41 games, he’s ended with a perfectly clean slate in pass protection 21 times.
