This is a big blow to the Ravens defense. While most say he’s slowing down and he hasn’t been as much of an impact, he still was second on the team in 2018 in sacks with 7.0. He also added 34 combined tackles and a 43-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown.
This truly signals a new era in Baltimore as the old guard has left. It also signals confidence in the Ravens young linebackers Tim Williams and Tyus Bowser. Both struggled to find their mark in their first two years as combine for 5.5 sacks in their careers. However, with Suggs gone, this could push one or both into the starting role where they can elevate their game to the correct caliber. If not, the Ravens sack production could take a significant blow.
