NFL Free Agency is only days away and free agent linebacker C.J. Mosley is courting interest from around the league. The most recent franchise expressing interest in the All-Pro linebacker is an AFC North rival, the Cleveland Browns.
The #Browns are interested in LB C.J. Mosley, their #Ravens rival, source tells clevelanddotcom https://t.co/pWPf1UID8h

According to Spotrac and OverTheCap, the Browns sit with around $68 million in cap space. Far better than the Ravens and their situation, regardless of where the information is coming from:
Spotrac: $31.8 M
OverTheCap: $26.4 M
Brian McFarland: $17.3 M
Mosley’s been expected to haul in a hefty price tag and the most recent agreed deal of LB Kwon Alexander will only push Mosley’s eventual deal into the stratosphere.
49ers intend to sign former Bucs LB Kwon Alexander to a 4-year, $54 million deal that includes $27 million guaranteed, per source.

Alexander isn’t coming off a huge year, either. He suffered a torn ACL in 2018 and missed the last ten games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now, the San Francisco 49ers are dropping a mega-deal for $13.5 million AAV with 50% of the deal guaranteed. This all but spells the end of Mosley re-signing in Baltimore, barring a last-minute agreement. Then again, why would Mosley want to re-sign with the Ravens before testing free agency and hearing the contract offers from around the NFL?
