Okay guy, so it is officially the off season an I currently have nothing better to do than pretend to be the GM of the Ravens and pretend I am handling all the off season moves and rebuilding the Ravens. This means everything from cutting players and handling Free agency. For that I will use Fanspeak. Then I'll do a mock draft based on filling the needs I would not fill in Free agency.
Lets begin!
Cap situation prior to cuts and resignings
Salary Cap: 190,000,000
Player Salaries: 156,790,258
Dead Money: 1,298,276
Carryover: 4,500,000
Reserved for Draft Picks: 5,000,000
Cap Space Remaining: 31,411,466
Players Cut:
Flacco (this would be a trade in real life)
Weddle
Levine
Players resigned:
Robert Griffin III QB 3 yrs 2M
John Brown WR 3 yrs 7M
C.J. Mosley LB 5 yrs 11.5M
Za'Darius Smith EDGE 4 yrs 7M
Brent Urban DE 2yrs 1.5M
Leaving the Ravens with 31,021,109 in cap space heading into free agency
People may disagree with the needs but here they are in my eyes.
- Wide Receiver
- Interior OL
- Edge
- Running Back
- 34 Defensive End
FA Signings
- Lamarcus Joyner (S) accepted your 4 year offer for $10,000,000 per year
- Jadeveon Clowney (EDGE) accepted your 5 year offer for $14,000,000 per year
- Ameer Abdullah (RB) accepted your 2 year offer for $3,000,000 per year
This leaves my fictional Ravens with 13,571,109 to roll over into the next season. Also I think I have covered some major needs here.
That then brings us to the draft needing mostly offensive talent to surround Lamar Jackson with... Speaking of I traded back 1 time to recoup the 2nd rounder we lost in trading up for LJ.
The Draft Haul:
- Round 1 Pick 26 (IND): Brown, Marquise, WR, Oklahoma (A-)
- Round 2 Pick 27 (IND): Allen, Zach, DE, Boston College (A)
- Round 3 Pick 21: Biadasz, Tyler, C, Wisconsin (A+)
- Round 4 Pick 21: Snell Jr, Benny, RB, Kentucky (A+)
- Round 5 Pick 22: Samuel, Deebo, WR, South Carolina (A+)
- Round 6 Pick 18: Kelly II, Derrick, OT, Florida State (A+)
- Round 6 Pick 20: Johnson, PJ, DT, Arizona (A+)
Well, I didn't get as much OL help as I would have liked however I feel like I really upgraded the pass rush this off season and added some weapons for a young QB

Ultimately this exercise was very unrealistic however... it was super fun to play with the cap and draft. I would be interested to see what other people do to fix the roster.
