After a knee injury sidelined starting center Matt Skura for the game, and 2019 season, the Baltimore Ravens have signed C Jake Brendal to replace or backstop undrafted rookie Patrick Mekari.
The #Ravens have signed FA C Jake Brendel, source said, a roster addition that follows the season-ending injury to C Matt Skura. Brendel most recently spent camp with the #Broncos.

Brendal is relatively unknown, so much that there isn’t an image to use for him through USA Today or Getty Images. Therefore, I searched his draft profile to give a bit of information.

“Bottom Line — Leadership, durability and an ability to battle it tight quarters are all admirable qualities for Brendel, but his lack of athleticism and consistency in space will be challenges for him when NFL teams pound the tape. Brendel doesn’t have the length or body type to play any position other than center so his journey to the NFL might be a challenge.” — Lance Zierlein

According to pfref, Brendal played in 21 games for the Miami Dolphins, between 2016-2018, including a playoff game. He posted his three career starts in 2018, too. On September 3, 2018, Brendal was placed on IR due to what appears to be a calf injury [dolphinswire].
