Ravens odds to make the postseason are just outside the Wildcard spots

OddsShark released their 2018 playoff odds this week and their outlook on the Baltimore Ravens is nothing new. Among the 32 NFL teams, the Ravens are tied with the San Francisco 49ers for thirteenth best odds to make the post-season.

Among the AFC, Baltimore lands just outside the last playoff spots, standing seventh.

The teams with better odds in the AFC:

  1. New England Patriots -1500
  2. Pittsburgh Steelers -550
  3. Los Angeles Chargers -145
  4. Jacksonville Jaguars -140
  5. Houston Texans -135
  6. Kansas City Chiefs +120
  7. Baltimore Ravens +135

The Bengals and Browns are both far less favored in the AFC North, with margins of +400 and +600, respectively.

This isn’t a surprising placement for the Ravens, who finished just outside the playoffs in 2017. This is their usual spot for gambling odds due to their consistently successful nature, but unfortunately not elite team status. They also aren’t playing in a cupcake division as some other teams have enjoyed. . .

I would agree with these initial odds from OddsShark as the Ravens look strong to make the playoffs come 2018, but I don’t have them favored as of now. I do believe the teams ahead all look better on paper, also. The only real question being Kansas City, but Patrick Mahomes looks like the real deal from what I’ve seen on Arrowhead Pride.
