A couple of notable things jump out when looking at the numbers for these new Ravens. The first is Jackson’s number eight, which was worn by Trent Dilfer during the Ravens 2000 Super Bowl championship season. As well as Kyle Boller’s first number in his rookie season of 2003, before he switched to seven for the rest of his tenure. Mark Andrews dons the number eighty-nine that was previously worn by players such as Mark Clayton and recently, Steve Smith.
Best of all is Orlando Brown Jr’s. number. He will wear seventy-eight, which was the number he wore during his college days at Oklahoma, and his late, great fathers number during his second stint in Baltimore from 2003-2005 before retiring. Seeing another Orlando Brown wearing that number will sure give Ravens fans a lot of great memories of Zeus, and I’m sure this is a great honor for his son to honor his fathers legacy in Baltimore.
