Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome is quickly approaching the end of his tenure as the leading man in Baltimore, and is getting plenty of love from people around the sport on his way out. That includes NFL agents, who when recently polled by USA Today, gave him the distinguishment of “Most respected NFL decision maker:”
Our poll of NFL agents, conducted by @JarrettBell and @bylindsayhjones showed a lack of faith and trust in the Redskins, but perhaps admiration where you wouldn't expect it: https://t.co/DnAUoVCQJ2

This is a nice honor for Ozzie to receive on his last run as the top decision maker before handing the reins over to Eric Decosta. It’s also interesting to see it come from NFL agents, a demographic not necessarily known for showing deference to the organizations that they have to negotiate against in favor of the players they represent.
Other highlights of the survey list the Redskins’ Bruce Allen as the least trustworthy decision maker, with John Elway surprisingly coming in third. They also have some harsh words for NFLPA chief DeMaurice Smith because the cons seemingly outweigh the pros on the current collective bargaining agreement.
Regardless, we’ll see how much Ravens fans still respect Ozzie after he wraps up his final draft for the team next week. It’s critical that he hit this one out of the park, so let’s hope the agents polled in this survey are to be believed.
