Back in October of 2017, former Ravens WR Derrick Mason was arrested for allegedly attacking a women he had been dating.
The initial charge for Mason was felony aggravated assault involving strangulation.
The woman claimed she was grabbed by the neck, hit in her stomach and slapped. She contradicted the previous statement during a preliminary hearing in December, though. During the preliminary hearing, she contradicted by saying she was drunk on the morning of the incident and did not remember speaking with the police.
She responded to the question of if Mason had hit or attacked her with, “He did not.”
The woman also requested an order of protection filed against Mason to be dismissed.

The prosecutor, General Sessions, requested Judge Allegra Walker to instead send a misdeanor domestic assault charge to the grand jury for further consideration.

This is yet another domestic violence incident for the Ravens. Also known, the infamous Ray Rice incident in 2014 and while Terrell Suggs was never formally charged back in 2009 or 2012, it’s still nothing to gloss over.
It’s been years since Mason played in the NFL, let alone play for the Baltimore Ravens, but this only furthers a bad reputation for the Charm City franchise.
