Less than a day after Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti mentioned acquiring talent for his Super Bowl MVP quarterback Joe Flacco, Baltimore went out and found another MVP, albeit in a different league.

In the Grey Cup, the CFL’s ‘Super Bowl’, Posey hauled in the longest touchdown in Grey Cup History (100 yards).

A former third-round pick from Ohio State, DeVier Posey is a receiver with some skill.

Originally drafted by the Houston Texans, Posey never found much playing time in the NFL. After only a three seasons, he left for the CFL and joined the Toronto Argonauts.

Career stats, according to pro-football-reference:

Regular season:

26 games | 22 catches | 272 yards | 0 TD

Postseason:

2 games | 3 catches | 47 yards | 1 TD

In the preseason, Posey did score an impressive touchdown, obviously not counting towards actual stats, though.

His single touchdown, one that actually counted, occurred against the New England Patriots in the 2012 divisional playoff match-up. Unfortunately, he suffered a torn Achilles during the game.

While DeVier hasn’t stuck around the league, the move shows the Ravens are willing to find talent from big schools, small schools and different football leagues, in order to succeed.
