Ravens vs. Buccaneers: Open Thread

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Baltimore Ravens Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

The last time the Ravens and Buccaneers met, Joe Flacco broke the record for the fastest time from the start of an NFL game to five touchdowns.

Today. . . Well, we’ll see. It’s going to be an interesting matchup as the Bucs have the most passing yards in the NFL. They have a strong set of receiving threats and the Ravens defense is a bit banged up. Regardless, they went toe-to-toe with the Kansas City Chiefs only a week prior, meaning they should be capable of handling Tampa Bay.

With a rain-soaked game in Baltimore, Lamar Jackson and Gus Edwards Jr. may have the edge. The Ravens running game is abusing opponents and the slippery football will impact this game both positively and negatively.

This is another game without Alex Lewis, meaning James Hurst is filling in at left guard and Orlando Brown Jr. continues his stretch as the starting right tackle. If all goes well, the Ravens will march down the field early a few times while the defense steps up and keeps Jameis Winston out of it.
