Some Ravens fans may not be able to enjoy the playoffs following a depression inducing loss in Week 17, but the show must go on. A pair of familiar foes earned bye weeks in the AFC regular season. The wildcard round boasts another perennial contender, one dangerous newcomer, one middling bunch and a true cinderella team.
Not surprisingly, the Patriots once again secured home field advantage. Love them or hate them, there is not denying Bill Belichick and Tom Brady are among the best to ever serve in their respective roles throughout NFL history. The two seed is the Ravens arch enemy, yet respected rival, the Steelers. After a devastating injury to Ryan Shazier, Pittsburgh will lean on perhaps the most explosive offense in the league this January.
Postseason action will kick off in Kansas City. The Chiefs are lead by steady quarterback Alex Smith and Andy Reid, one of the best head coaches to never win a Super Bowl. They will face the remarkably healthy Titans, a team know for their smash mouth rushing attack.
Jacksonville proved free agent shopping sprees can be successful, as they locked up the three seed. They will try to hide their quarterback by counting on the supremely talented pass rushers and cornerbacks of their truly elite pass defense. Buffalo is quarterbacked by former Raven Tyrod Taylor, and managed to snap a lengthy playoff drought while simultaneously rebuilding their team.
