Garrett Downing of Baltimoreravens.com stopped Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell at the Pro Bowl practice for a few words on Friday.
Downing started by playfully asking what NFC team Bell would be playing for next year. Bell is set to be a free agent after playing under the franchise tag for the Steelers in 2017. His unhappiness with the lack of a long-term contract has been well documented, but it seems the two sides may finally be coming to an agreement.
“I’ll probably be a Steeler, most likely.” Bell said.
This will probably come as a disappointment to many Ravens fans, as Bell has combined with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and wide receiver Antonio Brown to give the Ravens many fits over the years. With the looming retirement of Roethlisberger, it would have been nice to be rid of both him and Bell sooner than later.
Downing had a little fun with Bell afterwards, asking him who would he rather avoid taking a hit from, Terrell Suggs or C.J. Mosley. He chose Suggs, stating that he and Mosley are about the same size, but Suggs is bigger. I think he made the right call on that one.
