POLL: Would you be upset if the Ravens selected a running back in the first round of the draft?

The Baltimore Ravens are in desperate need of playmakers on the offensive side of the ball. With that being said, how would you feel if they selected a running back with their first pick in the draft?

In 2017, Alex Collins emerged from the trash heap as a stud running back for Baltimore. After being kicked to the curb by Seattle in his second year, the Ravens took a chance on him. This move paid off big time. Despite not starting for the first several weeks, Collins finished with 973 yards on 212 carries and six touchdowns. He provided a jolt of energy to an otherwise lifeless offense.

Kenneth Dixon will be returning as well from a season-ending knee injury suffered last offseason. Dixon showed potential in his rookie season, but has struggled to stay on the field due to injuries and suspensions. He is a player who will fit nicely in a rotation.

The Ravens have Collins under control for now, but they will have to decide if he warrants the contract of a franchise back going forward.

Some fans may be upset if Ozzie Newsome selects a running back in round one, as it’s not a need, but like I said earlier, this team is in need of offensive playmakers period. Saquon Barkley, the far and away best running back prospect, will be long gone by the time Baltimore is on the clock. A guy like Derrius Guice, from LSU, could be an option however. Guice is a physical back with some attitude to show in his runs. Baltimore needs that nasty play from their offense and run game again. I would like the pick if the top wide receiver, offensive linemen, and safety are all off the board at 16.

Ravens fans need players to be excited about. Attendance at M&T Bank Stadium is down and that is largely due to the team just being boring to watch on offense.

So, I present my question to you.

Not my first choice, but we need playmakers in any shape or form.

    Only if they trade back.

I don’t like it. We should worry more about need in the first round this year.

I hate it. Collins is the clear answer for the future at running back.
