The Pro Football Writers of America released their annual All-NFL, All-NFC and All-AFC teams yesterday and three Ravens were named to the All-AFC team. Those three were Eric Weddle, Justin Tucker and Michael Campanaro, who made the cut as a punt-returner.
Weddle and Tucker come as no surprise, but Campanaro does, although a pleasant one. The young receiver has had a hard time staying healthy, but found a way to contribute on special teams, averaging nearly 11 yards per punt return. Weddle finished with six interceptions on the season and Tucker was 34-of-37 on field goal attempts.
All three seem like obvious selections, but a notable omission was C.J. Mosley. Mosley had an outstanding year, and played better than Ryan Shazier who was ultimately selected as the All-AFC middle linebacker. Outside of Mosley, I believe the sports writers got it right.
Full disclosure, I am a member of the PFWA and did vote for Mosley, Tucker and Weddle as representatives for the Ravens.
Do you think there were any snubs, if so, who?
