Sunday playoff games reminiscent of Ravens playoff victories

The Ravens aren’t in the 2018 postseason, therefore we must reminisce on victories past. Both games were similar to Ravens wins, but namely though, the Saints vs. Vikings contest, clearly reminded NFL fans of the Mile High Miracle, a play so glorious it has its own Wikipedia page.

In case you missed the game, the New Orleans Saints trudged down the field in the fourth quarter, and former Baltimore Raven Wil Lutz booted a 43-yard field goal with only 25 seconds remaining. The Vikings were just about done for. Minnesota needed a miracle, and the purple brethren received one from former Maryland Terrapin, Stefon Diggs.

The only difference, the Saints didn’t get their shot in OT. Some say this was much more heartbreaking, but I do enjoy pointing out the Ravens broke Denver’s collective hearts in double overtime, in the freezing cold, in their stadium.

Meanwhile, the Jacksonville Jaguars were heading to town against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and it was a sweet victory for the Jags as Pittsburgh overlooked the opposition. The Jaguars defense was tough, their offense was sharp, and the Killer B’s, once again, fail in the postseason. The Ravens did their thing against the Steelers back in 2014, as they came in with a superstar pass-rush, an impressive secondary, and a great running game featuring Justin Forsett.

Both playoff games on Sunday were a hit, and it helps to know the Ravens have done such feats before. Hopefully, the next season will feature the Ravens producing highlight-worthy games.
