Since coming into the league in 2011 A.J. Green has been one of the most explosive receivers (and overall players) in the NFL. He has formed a deadly connection with quarterback Andy Dalton that has been on display year in and year out, and one of Dalton and Green’s rivals, Baltimore Ravens’ head coach John Harbaugh, has taken notice of the historic pace of the talented wideout.
Not only has he taken notice, but in fact he believes that Green is the best at what he does:
"I think I was the first coach to go on record to saying he was the best in the league and that was maybe five years ago, six years ago and I stand by that," Harbaugh said. "I think he’s a great player and he’s proven it."
This is certainly high praise from Harbaugh, but it truly can be argued that Green is the best receiver in the league. While other players such as Julio Jones, Odell Beckham, and Antonio Brown all have a case, Green has been right in their class year in and year out.
The Ravens have very much been witness to that, as he has been the premier Raven killer within the division going back several years. If all the investments made into Baltimore’s defense are to be validated in Week 1, they’d do well to slow down to Green against his favorite matchup.
