More unfortunate injury news has struck the Ravens. Defensive end Brent Urban has suffered a Lisfranc foot sprain, as announced by Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.

Urban suffered the injury in the second quarter of the blowout Week 3 loss to the Jaguars. Urban went down and the trainers looked at his foot, but Urban was able to walk off on his power. Urban’s return to the game was deemed as questionable, but now the injury appears more severe.

The injury is expected to keep him out long-term. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Urban will see a specialist to determine more specifics on the time he will be out.

After the report of the injury, Urban tweeted the following:

As he noted in his tweet, Urban has suffered a number of major injuries throughout his career, and this just adds to the list. The Virginia product broke into the starting lineup this year after an excellent preseason, and looked poised for a breakout year.

With Urban out for the foreseeable future, the Ravens are becoming pretty thin on the defensive line. Bronson Kaufusi, Willie Henry and Chris Wormley should all see more playing time in Urban’s absence. The Ravens have already had to shuffle their defensive line due to Brandon Williams’ injury, as Carl Davis entered the starting lineup.

The injury bug has hit the Ravens hard throughout 2017. After this injury the list of key Ravens to miss extended time include Marshal Yanda, Kenneth Dixon, Danny Woodhead and Urban. Even after the worst loss in team history, the Ravens can’t catch any kind of a break.
