Baltimore Ravens 53-man roster prediction, 8/26

NFL: Baltimore Ravens at Miami Dolphins Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

On September 2, prior to 4:00 PM, New York time, all rosters must be cut to a maximum of 53 players on the Active/Inactive List. Though it sounds far away, it’s only a week away.

The last two weeks I’ve posted my roster predictions before the respective preseason games against the Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins. Here is the third edition of my roster.

Week One Prediction
Week Two Prediction

Current Injuries:

Tavon Young — Season ending
Kenneth Dixon — Season ending
Nico Siragusa — Season ending
Tim White — Season ending
Alex Lewis — Season ending
Crockett Gillmore — Season ending
John Urschel — Retired
Maurice Canady— IR Candidate

Offense — 24

QB: 2

Joe Flacco
Ryan Mallett

Unless Woodrum throws five touchdowns and zero picks tonight, while Mallett throws the opposite, Mallett’s job feels secure.

RB: 3

Terrance West
Danny Woodhead
Javorius Allen

Buck balled out against the Miami Dolphins, while T-West fumbled and was held out of the game. I think the gap has separated for Taquan Mizzell, especially with Buck being of special teams value.

FB: 0

I’ve placed Lorenzo Taliaferro on this list the past few weeks, but I’m uncertain if he makes the roster. He gives the Ravens an extra back in case of injury, but with the Ravens trotting out Patrick Ricard, a defensive lineman, it feels as though they’re not happy with the lead-blocking from Zo.

WR: 6

Jeremy Maclin
Mike Wallace
Breshad Perriman
Michael Campanaro
Quincy Adeboyejo
Chris Moore

Keenan is the only underdog capable of landing on this list, but I don’t believe he makes it. He’s still going to land with the Ravens on their practice squad for a second season.

TE: 4

Nick Boyle
Benjamin Watson
Maxx Williams
Larry Donnell

All four are roster material. All four are capable of making plays.

Tackle: 4

Ronnie Stanley
Austin Howard
James Hurst
Jermaine Eluemunor

Guard: 2

Marshal Yanda
De’Ondre Wesley

Same as last week, this position looks terrifyingly low, but only due to multiple players being listed as centers or tackles, rather than guards.

Center: 3

Ryan Jensen
Matt Skura
Jeremy Zuttah

Zuttah is the new addition. I suspect he’ll find a spot as the teams’ center, while Jensen is pushed to left guard. Not the worst idea, as Jensen is a big-mauler, which is the Ravens style this season.

Defense — 26

DE: 4

Brent Urban
Bronson Kaufusi
Chris Wormley
Carl Davis

Though Patrick Ricard was even being used as a fullback last week, I don’t believe he beats Davis for the spot. He is the 54th man, unfortunately.

DT: 3

Brandon Williams
Michael Pierce
Willie Henry

OLB: 5

Terrell Suggs
Matt Judon
Tyus Bowser
Tim Williams
Za’Darius Smith

ILB: 4

C.J. Mosley
Kamalei Correa
Patrick Onwausor
Albert McClellan

CB: 5

Jimmy Smith
Brandon Carr
Marlon Humphrey
Jaylen Hill
Sheldon Price

S: 5

Eric Weddle
Tony Jefferson
Lardarius Webb
Anthony Levine Sr.
Chuck Clark

Special Teams — 3

Kicker:

Justin Tucker

Punter:

Sam Koch

Long-Snapper:

Morgan Cox
