According to a source to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio, quarterback Joe Flacco is "feeling better".
“The constant talk about whether the Ravens will be signing a quarterback other than a no-name camp arm has sparked speculation that starter Joe Flacco’s back problem is worse than believed,” Florio wrote. So far, it’s not.
Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Flacco is currently feeling better, with the ‘arrow [pointing] up.’”
Included in this are Ravens head coach John Harbaugh’s comments about Flacco’s injury. Harbaugh was made available after practice on Wednesday.
“All indications have been positive,” Harbaugh said.
Baltimore is still weighing a decision whether or not to sign another quarterback to compete with Ryan Mallett for the backup position. With Mallett struggling, there have talks about bringing in Colin Kaepernick.
With Flacco’s back getting better, maybe the backup quarterback issue will be solved sooner rather later. However, with back injuries, there is nothing wrong with adding a bit of insurance.
