What does a retirement, two season-ending injuries and one expected starting left tackle being absent all have in common? They all happened to the Ravens offensive line.
Ronnie Stanley did not participate in over half of this weeks practice. With Alex Lewis and Nico Siragusa out, the Ravens will jumble the masses towards the best line combination possible, and the Miami Dolphins defensive line is the perfect test.
In the most recent set of practices, the Ravens starters have been:
LT — James Hurst
LG — Matt Skura
C — Ryan Jensen
RG — Marshal Yanda
RT — Austin Howard
This line combo is worrisome, but if they can fend off some of the biggest pass rushers in the league, they may ease back the terrified Ravens nation from another full-blown panic attack.
Ndamukong Suh and Cameron Wake are a nightmare on the defensive line. Their nickname, tSuhnami & EarthWake, gives all you need to know about their power.
If the Ravens can protect Ryan Mallett from these two, plus fend off the rest of the defensive attack, Baltimore may not be so bad in the coming weeks.
