Last week, I submit my first Baltimore Ravens 53-man roster projection. After the first preseason game against the Washington Redskins and injuries occurred, I deliver my second projection.
Current Injuries:
Tavon Young — Season ending
Kenneth Dixon — Season ending
Nico Siragusa — Season ending
Tim White — Season ending
Alex Lewis — Season ending
Crockett Gillmore — Season ending
John Urschel — Retired
Maurice Canady — IR Candidate
Offense — 24
QB: 2
Joe Flacco
Ryan Mallett
Nothing changes here. Josh Woodrum has not beat out Mallett, though he did pass Dustin Vaughan, who was cut from the Ravens earlier this week.
RB: 3
Terrance West
Danny Woodhead
Javorius Allen
I still like Javorius Allen as the third tailback on the roster. His special teams value keeps him aboard. He and Taquan Mizzell are in a battle right now; watch for them to duke it out across these next few preseason games.
FB: 1
Lorenzo Taliaferro
I’m unsure if the Ravens even keep Lorenzo, but I still have him here due to the Ravens love of fullback utilization.
WR: 6
Jeremy Maclin
Mike Wallace
Breshad Perriman
Michael Campanaro
Quincy Adeboyejo
Chris Moore
Chris Moore takes the spot I previously gave to Tim White. I haven’t been impressed with Moore’s play thus far, but he is a draft pick and if Tim White is no longer on the team, Moore clearly makes the roster.
TE: 4
Nick Boyle
Benjamin Watson
Maxx Williams
Larry Donnell
Tackle: 4
Ronnie Stanley
Austin Howard
James Hurst
Jermaine Eluemunor
Changes here, as I disclude Stephane Nembot. I don’t believe he is the spare tackle for the Ravens. They’ll go towards a free-agent, if they need yet another tackle.
Guard: 2
Marshal Yanda
De’Ondre Wesley
Multiple players listed as tackle or center, also play guard. Hence why this list is low.
Center: 2
Ryan Jensen
Matt Skura
Defense — 26
DE: 4
Brent Urban
Bronson Kaufusi
Chris Wormley
Carl Davis
A few good practices and a decent game against Washington gives Davis the edge over UDFA Patrick Ricard.
DT: 3
Brandon Williams
Michael Pierce
Willie Henry
OLB: 5
Terrell Suggs
Matt Judon
Tyus Bowser
Tim Williams
Za’Darius Smith
‘Z’ is the new addition on my roster. Though Judon surpassed him in the depth chart, his pass rush looks better than Williams’, currently.
ILB: 4
C.J. Mosley
Kamalei Correa
Patrick Onwuasor
Albert McClellan
CB: 5
Jimmy Smith
Brandon Carr
Marlon Humphrey
Jaylen Hill
Sheldon Price
Price is the new addition, and Brandon Boykin is no longer on this list. Boykin’s missed several practices; meanwhile, Sheldon has returned and is working hard.
S: 5
Eric Weddle
Tony Jefferson
Lardarius Webb
Anthony Levine Sr.
Chuck Clark
Added Clark to the safety list. He was my final addition, after sorting pieces around. The Ravens don’t have a young group here, outside of Jefferson. Weddle, Webb and Levine can groom the new generation, which includes Chuck.
Special Teams — 3
Kicker:
Justin Tucker
Punter:
Sam Koch
Long-Snapper:
Morgan Cox
Here is a link to my first roster prediction, in case you want to check them out side-by-side.
What are your thoughts, Ravens fans? Any players you disagree with? Any players stand out?
