Moments ago, the Baltimore Ravens released injury updates; one of the three updates is great news about QB Joe Flacco. Here is the press release:
The team now has a more definitive timeframe for QB Joe Flacco’s return. The 10th-year standout has been re-examined, and his progress from a back issue is good. He will return to practice in the preseason, but he is not expected to play in these games. The plan is for Flacco to be the starting quarterback against Cincinnati in the regular season opener on Sept. 10.
Great news for Baltimore Ravens fans. No longer should we worry over Ryan Mallett’s performances, as we know the franchise quarterback shall return in time to play against the Cincinnati Bengals, week one.
Tomorrow is the Ravens final stadium practice, with this release we’ll see whether or not Flacco’s first practice will start a M&T Bank Stadium, or if they wait until the team returns to Owings Mills, Maryland.
