Ravens place CB Tavon Young and WR Michael Campanaro on PUP list

Per the Baltimore Sun’s Jeff Zrebiec, the Ravens have placed CB Tavon Young and WR Michael Campanaro on the Physically Unable to Perform list (PUP).

Tavon Young tore his ACL in early June, and was already expected to miss the entire 2017 season. The injury was a huge disappointment for Young who was expected to start in the slot corner role this year. Young was very impressive in 2016, earning the third highest grade from Pro Football Focus among rookie corners.

Campanaro sprained his toe his toe in early June during OTA’s. “He’ll be out for a little while,” Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said of Campanaro’s injury per the team’s official website. “It’s not a serious injury, but it’s a nuisance for sure. He was practicing very well.”

Campanaro has struggled mightily with injuries throughout his career. According to Rotoworld, in his three year career, Campanaro has played just 11 games. If healthy, Campanaro was expected to figure in to the Ravens return game as well as provide depth at the slot receiver position. The Ravens recently signed Griff Whalen, a very similar type of player to Campanaro, who will more than likely fill the role that Campanaro would have had.
