Report: Jeremy Maclin to visit with the Ravens this week

The Ravens have been largely thought of a perfect match for Jeremy Maclin, and according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Ravens will get a chance to meet with the former Chiefs receiver.

The Ravens will be one of only two teams that are going to meet with Maclin to this point. The Ravens will get to meet with him on Wednesday, after he meets with the Bills today.

The Bills have the potential to get a deal done today with Maclin. They have more cap room than the Ravens have, and Bills running back LeSean McCoy has reportedly been trying to lure Maclin to Buffalo. In addition, Buffalo is all in all is good fit for him.

If Maclin gets out of Buffalo with no deal done, then Ozzie Newsome will try to work some cap magic to get Maclin to agree to a deal on Wednesday. The Ravens have somewhere near $4.2 million in cap room (the Arrington release brought the Ravens from $2.1 million to $4.2, but we don't yet know the contract details of the two cornerback signings made yesterday).

Maclin is a good fit in Buffalo, but he is a perfect in Baltimore. If he is willing to take maybe a little less, but play for a stronger team with more potential to make a run in the playoffs, then he will likely end up as a Baltimore Raven after his meeting with the team on Wednesday.
