ICYMI: Crabcakes a selling point for Jeremy Maclin

Shout out to Jimmy’s Famous Seafood...

NFL: AFC Divisional-Pittsburgh Steelers at Kansas City Chiefs Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Baltimore Ravens have made a big time addition to their receiving corps in Jeremy Maclin, which begs the question, what was the selling point to Maclin that made him choose the Ravens in a bidding war that included the Bills and Eagles?

Was it the area? The franchise? The “elite” quarterback as former Raven Steve Smith Sr. speculated? It appears to be a combination of all of those things, along with one of the more famous area exports: Crabcakes.

Jimmy’s Famous Seafood, located in the Baltimore neighborhood of Dundalk, has been unapologetic in their association with and support of the Ravens organization, and they have been involved in free agent signing proceedings in the past. However, they really went all in for this one, upping the ante on their initial offer when Maclin was still biding his time on the decision:

This is a pretty funny offer from Jimmy’s, and one that you may think was merely made and received in good fun. Apparently not though, as Maclin was plugged in on the situation:

Whether this was a minor or major selling point in the negotiations, any Ravens fans should be grateful to Jimmy’s for the role they played. If you like crabcakes as much as Maclin, be sure to check them out at 6526 Holabird Avenue in Baltimore, and let them know you appreciate them going above and beyond.
