The story of Matt Elam is now becoming a sad installment of a young man's life. A promising career that never was after having success at Florida, and now for the second time in three months, he has been arrested.

According to TMZ Sports, Elam was arrested on grand theft and battery charges Monday morning in Delray Beach, Florida. Elam was previously arrested on drug charges for carrying 126.2 grams of marijuana, and 3.1 grams of oxycodone. Currently, Elam is being held on a $4,500 bond.

As we know, Elam was the first pick by the Baltimore Ravens after winning Super Bowl XLVII. Being selected 32nd overall in 2013. He was a star player in college and was brought in to help be a part of a new core of Ravens defenses for years to come. Sadly, that didn't turn out to be the case even after a decent rookie season. Elam was consistently beat in coverage and missed a ton of tackles. He was benched midway into his sophomore season.

Before the start of the 2016 season, after Elam missed the 2015 campaign with a torn bicep, Baltimore did not pick up his fifth-year option, making him an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. After his first arrest, the team made it clear they were not bringing him back, marking an end to Elam's career in Baltimore, and officially making him a bust.

We are sure to find out more about his latest arrest, but it is clear we are beyond the "bust' label on Elam. His career as a whole might very well be over, but his career doesn't matter at the moment. He needs help to get his life back on track before throwing it all away, and not end up like Rolando McClain, who was recently arrested again two weeks ago. Let’s hope he gets the help he needs.
