The Baltimore Ravens have had a relatively active offseason, bringing in players such as Tony Jefferson, Danny Woodhead, and Brandon Carr to a squad that nearly made the playoffs last season.
While there is no way to tell how their record will shake out at this juncture, it is probably fair to say that the team has improved since the start of free agency. This is despite the losses of Rick Wagner, Kyle Juszczyk, and Timmy Jernigan, and in part thanks to their ability to retain mammoth defensive tackle Brandon Williams.
Ozzie Newsome has said that there is a ‘high probability’ that the team will bring in yet another free agent, which is likely a nod to the speculation surrounding the return of Lardarius Webb, or the visit of veteran Nick Mangold to the team’s facility. Both of those additions would provide both depth to the secondary, and a starter along the offensive line.
However, even if one or both of them are made, this team still has some holes to fill before the gong sounds on the 2017 season. Edge rusher is still a need, offensive line help is required even if Mangold is brought in, and wide receiver has been a glaring weakness for this franchise since before the book of genesis was penned.
As the draft inches closer, and more moves are made (or not) on the market, we will have a much clearer picture of what the Ravens can do to get better in problem areas. Before any of that plays out, we want to get your thoughts on the matter:
