Nick Mangold concludes visit to Baltimore without a deal

No deal for now with the seven time Pro Bowler

On Tuesday night, it was reported by ESPN's Jamison Hensley that seven time Pro Bowl free agent center Nick Mangold was visiting the Ravens. He arrived in Baltimore late Tuesday afternoon and the visit would go through Wednesday. Now, it seems that the visit with the Ravens has concluded without a deal, via The Baltimore Sun's Jeff Zrebiec.

Zrebiec would later go on to say that it doesn't mean that a deal won't happen, and that there is interest on both sides. It was reported on Tuesday by Zrebiec that the team was bringing Mangold in for a visit to see where he stands when it comes to his ankle injury from 2016.

The fact that there is still interest on both sides is a good sign for the Ravens in terms of locking up the longtime New York Jet. Not to mention general manager Ozzie Newsome stating during their pre-draft presser that it was a "high probability" the team signs a free agent before the 2017 NFL Draft. Which still raises the possibility of Mangold eventually coming to Baltimore, and signing him wouldn't hurt the team in terms of their compensatory picks because he was released by the Jets.

Of course, Newsome's statement could also mean another free agent who is still on the market will be on their way to Baltimore. For now though, it is best to monitor the Mangold situation during the week to see where things stand between the two sides, and if a deal can get done.
