According to Field Yates of ESPN, the Ravens have picked up the fifth year option of C.J. Mosley’s rookie contract.
Source: the Ravens have officially picked LB C.J. Mosley's 2018 5th-year option. The team previously forecasted this as a slam dunk move.

The decision will keep the Ravens star inside linebacker in Baltimore through 2018. Mosley is entering the fourth year of his rookie deal. Mosley will have a cap hit of $2,796,183 according to Spotrac. There is no information on the cap hit for Mosley in 2018.
Keeping Mosley in Baltimore will help to make sure the defense stays at a high level for at least the next two years.
Mosley will be 25 in 2018 when he hits the open market. Already being one of the top players at his position at such a young age, Mosley will command a large pay day in free agency. The Ravens will have to carefully manage the cap over the next two years to make sure they have room to re-sign Mosley. However, it’s very possibly that if the Ravens don’t put the franchise tag on Mosley, they may not be able to get him back.
For the time being, Mosley is still in Baltimore, and he will continue to produce at a high level for this defense in 2017, and following the team picking up his option, 2018 as well.
