Eight Ravens have changed their jersey number in the hours before the Draft

According to Ryan Mink of the Ravens’ official website, eight Ravens players have changed their jersey number in advance of the NFL draft on Thursday night. The following are the players and their new numbers:

Lardarius Webb - #21

Tony Jefferson - #23

Tavon Young - #25

Matthew Judon - #99

Michael Pierce - #97

Keenan Reynolds - #14

Otha Foster - #42

Boseko Lokombo - #47

After being released by the Ravens and later resigning with the team, Lardarius Webb will be able to retain his number 21 jersey, just as Tony Jefferson promised earlier in the offseason. Jefferson took number 21 when he signed with the team, but tweeted that he would give it back to Webb should he return to Baltimore.

In response, Jefferson has now taken number 23. Jefferson is unable to wear the number 22 jersey that he wore in Arizona, as that is the current number of Jimmy Smith.

Tavon Young’s number has changed quite frequently during his short tenure in Baltimore. During the 2016 preseason, Young wore number 43, but switched to number 36 at the start of the regular season. Earlier in the offseason, Tavon Young changed his number from 36 to 23. Now the Jefferson has taken 23, Young has had to switch again, and this time he will take number 25.

Matt Judon has taken Timmy Jernigan’s number 99 now that Jernigan has been traded to the Eagles.

Also of note, Michael Pierce will take the number 97, switching from the number 78 jersey he wore last season. 97 went unused on the 2016 Ravens roster.
