Mayock releases new Top 5 wide receiver prospects, and this helps the Ravens

The Ravens still need a top-flight receiver

Today, Mike Mayock released his new ‘2017 NFL Draft position rankings 3.0’. The rankings feature new shifts in one of the Baltimore Ravens’ biggest needs: wide receiver.

Wide Receiver

  1. Mike Williams, Clemson
  2. John Ross, Washington
  3. Corey Davis, Western Michigan
  4. Zay Jones, East Carolina

T-5. JuJu Smith-Schuster, USC

T-5. Cooper Kupp, Eastern Michigan

Corey Davis drops to third, from first place. Williams steals the top spot, while John Ross also sneaks above Davis.

My personal rankings, strongly along all Baltimore Beatdown editor’s, rank differently:

  1. Corey Davis
  2. Mike Williams
  3. John Ross
  4. Zay Jones
  5. JuJu Smith-Schuster
  6. Cooper Kupp

If Baltimore can land Mike Williams or Corey Davis, Baltimore will secure their big name receiver of the future. These two are both outstanding threats. Through many mock drafts Baltimore has selected Williams, but the possibility of Davis is closing in hard as he lowers in the standings. The reason isn’t quite clear as to why Davis is being slept on, his numbers and film prove he’s a blue-chip prospect with talent for the next level.

Either way, the Ravens are in a good position to land a big need and best player available pick, the only hope now is if it happens.
