Matt Miller mocks John Ross to the Ravens

NFL: Combine Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller is one of the preeminent names in NFL draft media, and throughout the offseason he releases several different mock drafts of different length and depth.

He recently released his post combine edition, and has the Baltimore Ravens making a very exciting selection at number 16 overall. That pick would be John Ross III, who blew up the internet when he clocked a 4.22 40-yard dash at the NFL combine, finally breaking the record previously held by running back Chris Johnson.

What is especially interesting about this pick is what Miller writes in regards to Ross’ strengths:

“Ross isn't just a speed guy either,” Miller wrote. “He's a great fit to fill the role left open by the retirement of Steve Smith. Ross, like Smith, might be an undersized receiver, but he makes up for it with speed and route-running skills. He showed that this past season by scoring 18 touchdowns”

That sounds an awful lot like a Steve Smth comparable, and I'm sure many Ravens fans would love to see Ross step into the role that agent 89 filled the last three seasons.

Some other intriguing picks from this seven round mock was Wisconsin’s T.J. Watt going to the Ravens in the second round, as well as Colorado CB Chidobe Awuzie going to them in the third.

Miller is sure to continue to put out great information and addictive mock draft content, so be sure to follow him on Twitter @nfldraftcout.
